It’s always great to get back to Indain Creek, UT. I got back onto some hard routes that I’ve been working on completing the past couple years. I did quite good on them. Not bad since I missed desert season last year.

New Routes in Ouray

Sandias RoutesNew Route (rock climbing) Developement has been occuring on the Sandias Cliffs above Ouray.  It’s now possible to hike around to the left and gain access across the middle ledge and lots of new terrain.  Here’s a sampling of what’s been developed.

A. As the Cookie Crumbles 5.10+/5.10 – top two pitches shown

B. Cookie Crumbs 5.9 or 5.10

C. Checkerboard Left 5.10- (five stars!)

D. Bean Pod 5.9?

E. Mountaineer’s Route 5.9

F. New traverse – 3rd Class

Ice Season Begins

A great start to the ice season!  Dreamy temps and dreamy ice!  Tormentor and Cruise Director on the North Face Route in South Mineral Creek (WI4, 1,500 ft.).  That’s near Silverton for you folks who don’t get out of town much.

Climbing Medicine Man in Colorado National Monument

Medicine Man (380 ft., 5.12b) in Colorado National Monument has long been one of our favorite desert towers. Here is a video of us climbing it.
This was a (very late) anniversary celebration of sorts for us.
